ShopLook helps you find products and services from shops near you, as short videos, and contact those shops directly. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
ShopLook is operated by Allarc Solutions Pvt Ltd, 164, Pocket F-17, Sector-8, Rohini, Delhi 110085, India ("ShopLook", "we", "us"). For anything about your privacy, write to [email protected]; for general help, [email protected].
What we collect
Your account. Your name and mobile number, which we verify with a one-time code sent by SMS. You can also add a profile photo and an email address.
Your location. If you allow it, your phone's precise location; or instead a pin you place on the map. We ask for location when you first tap Sign up or Browse, and refresh it when you open Home, only while you're using the app — never in the background. Your phone sends it with each request for listings so we can show what's within the range you choose. We don't store it on our servers or in our logs. Places you save (such as Home or Work) stay on your phone. To show an area's name, your phone's own map service (Apple or Google) turns the pin into an address.
What you do in the app. Listings you like, save or hide, and shops you save, block or choose not to see. What you search for is sent to us to find results; your recent searches stay on your phone.
Your messages. Chats you have with shops, including any photos you attach.
If you run a shop. Your shop's name, address and map pin, contact and WhatsApp numbers, opening hours, website, bio, photos, and the videos and details of your listings. This information is shown publicly to buyers. The mobile number you log in to your shop with (your account number) is kept private and is never shown to buyers.
Your consent. A record of what you agreed to, which version, and when.
Technical information. When the app talks to our servers, they briefly log technical details such as your IP address, the time and which feature was used (but not your location or searches), to keep ShopLook running and secure. We don't use third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools. If we add one, or add notifications, we'll update this policy first.
What we don't collect
- We don't ask for a password, your date of birth, your gender or your home address.
- We don't process payments. There is no buying or paying inside ShopLook, so we never collect card or bank details.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and verify your phone number.
- To show you listings and shops near the location you choose.
- To deliver your messages to shops and their replies to you.
- To keep ShopLook safe: reviewing reports, removing listings that break our rules, and blocking accounts or shops when needed.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
Shops you contact. When you message a shop, it sees your name, your profile photo (if you've added one), your messages and the listing you asked about. We never share your location with shops.
Calls and WhatsApp. Call and WhatsApp buttons open your phone's dialler or the WhatsApp app. Those calls and chats happen outside ShopLook: the shop sees your phone number (and your WhatsApp profile), and they're handled by your mobile operator or by WhatsApp (Meta) under their own terms. ShopLook doesn't see, record or control them.
Service providers who run parts of ShopLook for us, only for that purpose:
- Supabase — database and sign-in, hosted in Mumbai, India
- Railway — hosting our server and this website
- Cloudflare — storing and streaming videos and images, and our domain
- Google — maps and place search
- MSG91 — sending one-time codes by SMS
- WhatsApp (Meta) — sending a shop the code that checks its WhatsApp number
- Zoho — our email, when you write to us
Authorities, when Indian law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we immediately delete your profile and profile photo, saved items, likes, blocks, and your chats and the photos in them; saved places are cleared from your phone. Copies in our backups are removed within 30 days, and server logs within 30 days.
As India's IT Rules require, we keep basic registration details (such as your phone number) and your consent records for 180 days after deletion, in case they're needed for an investigation, and then delete them. Reports you made about content stay, without your name.
A shop is separate from your personal account and isn't deleted with it. When a shop is deleted, its photos, listings, videos, offers and chats are deleted too. See Delete your account for the steps.
Keeping it safe
Everything between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your data sits in a database that apps can't read directly — only our server can, with keys that never leave it — and each account can reach only its own data. A shop's login number is never sent to buyers. Access on our side is limited to the people who run ShopLook. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and the Data Protection Board as Indian law requires.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correct or update your details — most can be changed in Profile → Manage profile.
- Delete your account and data — Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- Withdraw your consent at any time — by deleting your account, or by writing to us. You can also turn off location, camera and photo access in your phone's settings; the app keeps working with a pin you place on the map.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.
- Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.

Safety and reporting
You can report shops, listings, offers and chats, and block shops (or, for a shop, block a customer) from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content or block accounts that break our rules.
ShopLook is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
